Window on the Wetlands Visitor Centre EOI

The Department of Tourism, Sport and Culture is inviting Expressions of Interest (EOI) from interested parties to provide ongoing management of the Window on the Wetlands Visitor Centre, located on the Arnhem Highway near the Adelaide River crossing.

This opportunity for private management arrangements of the Window on the Wetlands Visitor Centre would suit an individual, a business or joint venture partnership looking to broaden their commercial operations at a key tourism site.

The infrastructure at the Centre provides an opportunity for the development of new and private and commercial tourism products across the two levels of the building. The spacious upper floor boasts superb views across the floodplains. Previous uses have included a café and small theatre. The lower level is currently used as a Visitor Centre housing interactive displays of northern coastal wetlands, ecological and seasonal processes, Top End wildlife, with local Aboriginal and European history. Visitors to the Centre are able to access free tourist information and toilet facilities.

This is an opportunity for the successful proponent to utilise existing infrastructure to develop new and unique tourism ventures or experiences, provide opportunities for Aboriginal employment or contracting of Aboriginal owned enterprises, offer food and beverage services and much more.

You can download the full suite of documents and apply online at the Quotations and Tenders Online website.

Submissions close on 11 March 2020.
