NT Heritage Enhancement Action Plan

The Northern Territory (NT) Government has committed $6.1 million over three years for the development and implementation of the Heritage Enhancement Action Plan. This will provide strategic direction and leadership towards the preservation, development and promotion of historical places across the Territory.

It is aimed at providing better connectivity between heritage places, a coordinated signage policy and greater use of new technology.

The Heritage Enhancement Action Plan aims to:

  • provide a more memorable visitor experience
  • make it easier for locals and visitors to embrace our history and heritage sites
  • help boost Tourism NT’s cultural tourism product.

Under the direction of the Department of Arts and Museums, guidelines for funding applications under the NT Heritage Enhancement Action Plan are currently being developed.
